I will praise you thru the pain
Tho darkness envelopes me
Deceptive views cloud my mind
Truth mixes with Satan’s lies
You are all alone he whispers
This pain is yours to suffer
The LORD offers you nothing
Return to me, the bottle cries
I was your peace in trouble
A few sips to calm the nerves
Remember the old times well
Consider the man you were
It is the flesh that is weak
Light consumes the shadows
In Christ I’m a new creation
A child of the Living God
Even if all others forsake me
The LORD will never stray
In His will I shall find peace
My Rock on which I stand
Your strength will never fail
My Sword to slay my fears
Of whom shall I be afraid?
My Shield defending my faith
Speaking to me righteous truth
Life will not be an easy path
Satan’s promised he will attack
Then I bend my knee to you
Remembering to offer this
I will praise you thru the pain
